Take a stroll through A Mom's Life, a one-woman play written and acted by Kathryn Grody. It tells the story of her life as a stay-at-home mom, married to the famed Mandy Patinkin. Grody hopes that after seeing this play no one will ask the question, "Are you working now, or just staying at home having fun with the kids?" At the Hult's Soreng Theatre. See Friday Calendar.

You know how you feel guilty letting your little monsters, your children, jump up and down on the bed? How you're afraid they'll crash off and take out a lamp? Well, "Action Nights" at Gymnastics Northwest are definitely for you. From 5 to 9 pm on the third Saturday of each month, a gym-full of kids go absolutely ape-shit over gymnastics (abusing all the paraphernalia you always wanted to play with – six trampolines pushed together, a pit-full of foam, etc.,) video games and other kids' activities, all under the adult supervision of trained youth leaders! Now you can go out and get bombed at Red Robin, or wherever. Just don't forget to have someone sober picks up the kids. See Saturday Calendar.

Cheryl Wheeler blasts into Café Paradiso with a double-barreled performance of singer/songwriter talent. Wheeler's emotional side delivers achingly honest songs of love and loss, while her evil twin mischievously drums up funny social statements and trend-defying melodies. See Thursday, March 20 Calendar.

If you're interested in human geography and aquatic ecosystems, and if you enjoy sitting back in the dark, watching colorful slides pass across a large white screen, attend "Catfish, Hoopnets and Johnboats," a Sierra Club slide presentation by Tim Giraudier at Roosevelt Middle School. Learn about how subsistence fisher-families live along the Mississippi and its tributaries amidst ever increasing environmental, legal and economic difficulties. See Tuesday Calendar.

You may have only seen this man "making it really real" with Mya in a Coke commercial, but Common has been influencing hip hop for more than a decade. Known for his intelligent rhymes and progressive style, Lonnie Rashied Lynn is truly an enlightened emcee. See for yourself when the artist formerly known as Sense brings his "Electric Circus" to the McDonald Theatre, along with hip hop greats Gang Starr and Talib Kweli. See Saturday Calendar.
