fair
The Lane County Fair 2002, "Gotta Be There!" packs a wallop this year at the Lane County Fairgrounds. In addition to the haunted house, the bumper cars and the swing-ride, fair-goers can partake in contests, walks along the isles of community booths and the fair-food that you jog off all summer. The nightly music line-up features Three Dog Night, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, America, Travis Tritt, Jamie O'Neal and Foreigner. See Tuesday Calendar.

celebration
King Estate Vineyards is holding a two-day 10th Anniversary Celebration of winetasting and art in Lorane. Justin King and Don Latarski will play music for those roaming the grounds snacking on appetizers. As part of the event, self-guided tours are featured in the home studios of Erin Williams, Karen Pidgeon, Richard Laycock, Roger Weise, Evangeline Smedley and Alix Mosieur. Here's The Artist, by Roger Weise. See Saturday Calendar.

Once again, The Visible Men grace the McDonald Theatre. Hail to the Men, Dan Schmid and Dustin Lanker, whose triumphant CD release, In Socks Mode, is sure to please your ears in this called-for reappearance. Of the Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Schmid and Lanker's repertoire includes classical and jazz, which are incorporated into the Visible Men's rare pop sound. Come all ye who went to their June show, and come all ye who were unlucky enough to miss that winning debut. See Friday Calendar.
