Festival:Inside/Out is an organization of passionate Bohemians within our community who strive to unite all human beings through appreciation of art. Boooooring. Not. Their art festival boasts 30 dancers, 50 painters and sculptors, 15 poets, five bands, seven actors, three filmmakers, carnival performers and a partridge in a pear tree. Included will be music by Mood Area 52, Olympus Mons, Champagne Syndicate and Bonfire Madigan, a striking cellist phenom from the Bay Area. Two nights of performances at the McDonald promise totally different shows. Suave threads encouraged. See Friday and Saturday Calendar. See Saturday Calendar.

Gathering: Eugene visual artist David Joyce receives the Bishop Endowment Arts and Letters Award at a City Club arts luncheon at the Eugene Hilton. Heralded for his contributions to public art, including the Flying People cutouts at the Eugene Airport, Joyce is joined by the Young Writers Association and the Rose ChildrenŠs Theatre, who will receive the Fentress Award by Mayor Jim Torrey.
