dance: Those in the Tango-know feel that it's nothing short of a miracle that world-renowned Carlos Rivarola is coming to Eugene to share his knowledge of this sizzling-hot dance form. Carlos has choreographed and appeared in the films Tango Bar, Naked Tango and Tango, and he was a lead cast member in the 1985 Broadway hit, Tango Argentine. He teaches for two days at In-Shape Fitness and holds a demonstration dance Saturday night at the same location. See Saturday and Sunday Calendar.

music: Last fall Harry Connick, Jr. celebrated his debut as composer, arranger and orchestrator for a Broadway production, Thou Shalt Not. He simultaneously released 30 and Songs I Heard. The guy's a walking trophy four multi-platinum, three platinum and three gold albums, two Grammies, an Emmy and nominations for his film work. He's singing at the Hult. See Tuesday Calendar.

literary arts: "The Last Street Corner in America," part of Eugene's "Readin' in the Rain," features music, storytelling and more, all day and evening at Tsunami Books. Scheduled are Walker T. Ryan, Eagle Park Slim, Laura Kemp and T.R. Kelly, as well as Ken Babbs and the Merry Pranksters along with their bus, Further. See Saturday Calendar.
