festival:
If you're looking for just the right shade of poppy, lupine or foxglove to add to your garden, chances are you'll find it at Mt. Pisgah's Wildflower Festival and Plant Sale. The theme of this year's festival is "Plant Relationships -- Carnivory and Parasitism" and this year's post plant is Candystick (Allotropa virgata), a mycotrophic member of the heath family. Lacking chlorophyll, Candystick gets its nutrients and carbon compounds from a fungus associated with its roots. The Festival also features guided wildflower tours, a wildflower photo display, children's activities and more. See Sunday Calendar.

festival:
It's Eugene's annual rite of passage into spring. Besides showcasing fabulous new music, the Willamette Valley Folk Festival features some of the best people-watching around. This year's fest includes performances by Ian Moore (pictured), the Sugar Beets, Toby Foyeh and Orchestra Africa and the Tony Furtado Band, just to name a few. So pull out your sunscreen (let's hope) or your raincoat, and head on down to the EMU east lawn. See Friday Calendar and EW's May 10 WVFF Program Guide, available on campus.

3benefit:
No doubt the Latin music band Lo Nuestro (meaning "it's ours," in Spanish) is claiming its place as one of the best bands in Eugene. Band leader Fernell Lopez, the director of other Latin bands such as Caliente and Sandunga, continues to bring a variety of Latin American music to Eugene with his latest six-piece ensemble. This weekend's concert will benefit LCC's Latino Student Union and Latin American music programs for Arts in Education K-12. See Friday Calendar.
